]]> OK, I couldn’t resist with the headline, but given how the Knicks’ offseason has gone, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if the Knicks added another veteran.

Being that Wally Szczerbiak is currently 35 years old and has been out of the NBA for a couple of years it wouldn’t have surprised me to see them bring Szczerbiak to camp for his once prolific long-range shooting.

But relax Knicks’ fans. You won’t see Szczerbiak don a Knicks’ jersey anytime soon, but instead the former NCAA Tournament hero has been added to the Knicks’ broadcast team.

Szczerbiak will be joining the ranks of MSG Network’s analysts replacing Kelly Tripucka as head analyst.

His playing career ended in 2009 and actually had a reported tryout with the Knicks that season that fell through. After that, Szczerbiak became a basketball analyst for CBS College Sports.

In other news surrounding the Knicks’ broadcast team, longtime radio analyst Jon Andariese is stepping down to spend more time with his family and focus on his advertising business, ending a career with the team that began in 1972.

Andariese will be replaced by Brendan Brown, who was a Knicks’ radio analyst for several games last season and who has been a contributor since 2008.
