Lead Blogger
Alex David, aka Short White Boy, was born in the small town of Manhattan as a tall black man. When he realized he’d never be a decent basketball player, it scared the black out of him. And made him shrink in despair. As a child, bball was always his favorite sport to play, but he didn’t watch it on tv. He used to explain that disparity by saying it was like sex — he’d much rather be doing it than watching it. Post-college he discovered how hard it was to find willing partners, er, bball players, so he had no option: he began to watch others do it because he was tired of always playing with himself.
Thus, he became a Knicks’ fan, loving their rough, no-nonsense ways. When they got Allan Huston and Larry Johnson, Alex was certain they’d finally beat Michael Jordan for the title. During the years of all those Knicks/Heat tussles, Alex moved to LA to go to film school and to learn how to write about himself in the third person. Unable to afford cable, he could only watch basketball on the local channels, thereby becoming a fan of the Lakers. Likewise, unable to afford Laker tickets, he could only go to Clipper games, thereby becoming an even bigger fan of them. Sure, his heart belonged to the Knicks, but his body resided in the Nation. The Clipper Nation. Thus he was hired to start FanSided’s FullyClips site.
However, as everyone knows, in a battle between the heart and the body, the heart always wins (well, maybe it depends what part of the body we’re talking about and how many drinks one has had…). Thus, though his body remains dislocated in the City of Angels, Alex’s soul has returned to NYC, leaving the Clips and moving up the food chain to become lead blogger for Buckets Over Broadway.
That’s right, ‘Bochers — he’s back to where he belongs. And this time it’s blogtastical.
