New York Knicks Rumors: Could Knicks swing a trade for Joakim Noah?

There has been plenty of talk about New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony potentially signing with the Chicago Bulls this summer.

There has also been plenty of talk of current Bulls’ center Joakim Noah actively recruiting ‘Melo to Chicago.

But ultimately could Anthony and Noah somehow end up teammates in New York?

A sign-and-trade deal likely could send Anthony to Chicago, but according to some it could be the other way around as Noah could ultimately come to New York.

Sam Smith of Bulls.com has heard the rumor.

Smith writes:

New York is about stars. Plus, they have a shot at LeBron next summer if they hang onto ‘Melo; not if they lose him. So Phil’s got to get a star if he loses Anthony. I’ve heard this one: The Knicks get Noah and the Bulls get Tyson Chandler, a good expiring deal so they can go after Kevin Love next year, and Iman Shumpert, who is from Chicago and a good defender who Thibs would like and Pablo Prigioni, a good backup point if they lose Augustin and Hinrich.

While that is a nice thought, it is as unlikely as any scenario imaginable.

The Bulls aren’t likely to start over, something they would be signaling with this move.

The Knicks are less likely to make the move as well as even if they do re-sign ‘Melo, it makes more sense to remained focused on 2015 instead of pulling the trigger on a panic trade to try and save face next season.

Anthony and Noah very well could be teammates next season, but despite the rumor, it is far more likely to be in Chicago than in New York.

This is a useless & dumb article. As a Knick fan, of course I’d love to see that. The only way this would get done is that Thibs would need to be bound & gagged…that’s probably just to start with. lol

It’s not likely either way. Melo isn’t going to Chicago and Noah isn’t coming here. Enough.

  • Jamal Ba

    Neither way!

Jr Smith has an untraceable contract @ 6 m a yr, prigioni is a ufa, and am are makes too much for a reserve @ 23.4 m.
The only trade chips are chandler, Hardaway jr, and iman. Nobody wants Felton he stinks and might be going to prison for gun pocession.

The knicks should try the NBA D League for a PG on the cheap or undated free agents. The knicks roster has 7 signed players for next season.

Free agents- melo, tyler, aldrich, moure, brown, clark, prigioni, as for Odom he is signed to a non guaranteed contract he has to make the team in the summer league first.

Phil Jackson has to get creative in making trades. The Mavericks want chandler see what you can get for him.

I say sign Shaun Livingston he is a definite upgrade over Felton, maybe even Spencer Hawes better defender
Better post man, and better offensive skills then chandler.

Hahaha simple answer.,….Hell no!!!! Noah isn’t leaving the Bulls to go play for that sorry ass franchise…..Thibs won’t let it happen, Pax & Gar would never let it happen. Leave a Playoff on the verge of doing something team for a maybe we will make the Playoffs in the next couple years? Hahaha please….

WOW!! what Insight. .. we can now recycle this article with any name in the league…..substitute Roy Hibbert, Dwight Howard, either Gasol, etc. etc. etc. Rinse and Repeat. .and we have an entire SPring/Summer of articles. . Cmon Writer.. Knicksfans deserve more than just this.
This isn’t even watercooler conversation… its more like what gets said in mens bathrooms while we’re washing our hands because we have nothing substantive to say!!

The knicks have very little money to play with but, there will be upgrades to the roster. I will guarantee that Phil Jackson will make a surprising trade or too that’s guaranteed. All I can say is watch the draft this June and you will see.

Noah is the Bulls best trade bait but they are not swapping Chandler for him. They want high draft picks for the overrated center ,
