New York Knicks: Mike Woodson seriously hopes Knicks won’t quit

When watching this current New York Knicks team, you sometimes just have to sit back and shake your head and some of the stuff that comes out of the players and coaches mouths.

I would include general manager Steve Mills on this list, but he has been too cowardly to speak since he was handed the job back in training camp.

The latest idiotic statement comes from head coach Mike Woodson.

After the Knicks best performance in what seems like a couple of months Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Woodson comically said (via New York Daily News):

“I hope that these guys don’t quit. I don’t think they are quitting.”

Really?

Has Woodson watched this team’s effort the past couple of months on has he been sleeping on the bench, something that surely wouldn’t surprise me.

News flash Woodson.

This team quit on you a long time ago.

You are just too blind to see it and make the necessary changes.

Players like Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith among others have questioned this team’s pride, heart and effort over the past month. That should have been sign No. 1 to Woodson.

But the most obvious sign has been the overall lack of effort at both ends of the floor.

Despite last night’s victory, the reality is that this Knicks team quit on Woodson a long time ago.

Now isn’t the time to worry about the Knicks possibly quitting.

Woodson should have been asking that question two months ago.

Asking it now just makes him sound foolish.
