The New York Knicks lost to the Miami Heat tonight. They lost by a lot after keeping it relatively close in the first half. Carmelo Anthony scored a lot of points in the first half, but didn’t get help in almost any regard. Tyson Chandler, who was pretty good on the offensive end, looked checked out on the defensive end. The rest of the Knicks, well, underperformed, much like they have all season.

Pipeland: The J.R. Smith Story:
When J.R. Smith set his sights on the NBA at the tender age of 19, he envisioned a life of excess — glamour, riches, women, and playing basketball under the world’s brightest lights. 10 years later, Smith has become the laughing stock of the league after several run-ins with the law and the NBA’s disciplinarians for his on-court antics. Once viewed as a championship piece for the crestfallen Knicks, Smith now faces a prying question: is he the jester or the knight?

However, blown away by the quickness, speed, strength, agility, and moreover, youth of the league, he finds himself wondering if he’s delayed his dream for too long.
Raymond Felton – 31 minutes, 2 points, 1-7 FG, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 TOs, -9
Grits ‘n’ Shit:
Mistyped, miscast, misunderstood. Raymond Felton never though he’d hear the criticisms so frequently — “fat,” “out of shape,” “terrible,” and worst of all, “thug.” Yet after an inexplicable career-worst season in New York, Felton plummeted to a new low: criminal possession of a firearm. Suffering through a heartbreaking divorce in a Big Apple far less sweet than what he found in South Carolina, Grits ‘n’ Shit tells the story of a southern boy seeking redemption, righting his wrongs.
Tim Hardaway Jr. – 34 minutes, 6 points, 2-15 FG, 3 rebounds, -35
Rookie Blues:
The son of former NBA superstar Tim Hardaway, rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. has been thrown into a whirlwind season with the waning New York Knicks. At times, the NBA life has been great to Hardaway Jr., but other times, the shoes seem simply too big to fill, the task simply too great. In Rookie Blues, Junior must fight his way to the top, proving to coaches, veterans, and all the doubters that he belongs.
Amar’e Stoudemire – 19 minutes, 4 points, 2-6 FG, 3 rebounds, -30
Crestfallen
Three years ago, Amar’e Stoudemire was the toast of New York. Now, he’s the bane of their existence. A promising career, fizzled out by a betraying body and more injuries than his 6’10” chiseled shoulders can handle. Stoudemire was the Knicks false prophet; now he simply fights to remind himself who he was, who he could be, and who we wants to still be.
