NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks still considering Nuggets Andre Miller

The New York Knicks are employing a full court press over the final two days before the NBA Trade Deadline in order to try and improve at the point guard position.

While they have their eyes set on Atlanta’s Jeff Teague and Toronto’s Kyle Lowry, a deal seems very unlikely considering what the Knicks are using as bait right now. That could leave them with only one fallback option.

The Knicks view Denver Nuggets disgruntled point guard Andre Miller as a fallback option, though their preference is for someone younger like Teague or Lowry reports ESPN’s Marc Stein.

As we get closer to the deadline, it may be a guy like Miller that the Knicks are forced to settle for.

Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that the Knicks are expected to pass on Teague out of concerns about his long-term deal. That’s something I agree with.

He also hears that the Raptors, Hawks and Knicks didn’t have talks about the three-way deal involving Lowry, whom Toronto probably won’t trade, according to Berman.

The Knicks goal is to flip Shumpert for a point guard, which has become their top priority at the deadline.

Unfortunately they may end up flipping him for the wrong one as a guy like Miller doesn’t necessarily improve the Knicks awful situation at the point a great deal.
