New York Knicks owner James Dolan publically stated a few weeks ago that his struggling Knicks would not be making any trades anytime soon.
That hasn’t stopped teams from trying, especially when it pertains to All-Star center Tyson Chandler.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Knicks are still getting calls for center Tyson Chandler but sources close to the situation tell Stein that they’re brushing each one of them off. At this stage, New York has no interest in parting with its defensive anchor, which makes sense if the Knicks are set on re-signing Carmelo Anthony this summer.
Now that the Knicks have heated up in 2014, it makes little sense to move Chandler or anyone else in the attempt to dump salary and look towards the future.
However, despite their hot month of January, this Knicks team is nowhere near out of the woods yet and another lengthy losing streak should at least make Dolan think about making some moves.
For now though Chandler, who is actually the last person on this team I would move, is safe.
But that won’t stop teams from trying.
