The upcoming season for the New York Knicks will be a big season, due to high expectations and trying to improve on last season’s success

The Knicks have a very talented roster, but what will be the roles for their players?

Let’s take a look.

Carmelo Anthony – Star player

Melo is relied on as the Knicks best player, and under the bright lights of New York he is expected to do more than score. He has to lead this team, and be great on and off the court if this team wants to succeed. He has to improve on last season’s stats.

Has Melo delivered his best season yet?  He will have to put up another great year if he wants to see success in New York.

J.R. Smith – Second Scoring Option

Reigning Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith will look to anchor the Knicks bench for a second straight season after an outstanding season  last year. Smith will have to provide the Knicks a spark off the bench, and will have to be the team’s main offensive player of the second unit. He will also have to clean up his off the court actions, after being suspended for five games for a failed drug test, believed to be caused by marijuana.
