After a fast and furious start to the 2013 offseason, we have reached the point where everything has slowed down considerably and we can look back at how each NBA team improved or failed to improve for the 2013-14 season.
There will still be some player movement the rest of the summer, but likely nothing major enough to really make an impact on this offseason.
With that being said, let’s take a look division by division at how each team in the NBA fared this offseason.
Today we look at the Southeast Division.
Rookies: C Mike Muscala, C Lucas Nogueira, G Dennis Schroeder
Free Agents: C Gustavo Ayon, F Elton Brand, G/F Kyle Korver (re-signed), F Paul Millsap, G Jeff Teague (re-signed)
Trades: G Jared Cunningham
Free Agents: C Zaza Pachulia, F Josh Smith
The Hawks continue to rebuild and probably are kicking themselves for not dealing Josh Smith at the deadline last year, but they quickly replaced him with a very nice signing in Paul Millsap.
They also had a pretty nice draft by adding the likes of Germany point guard Dennis Schroeder and Brazilian center Lucas Nogueira.
Those moves won’t likely pay big dividends for a couple of seasons but while the hawks aren’t contenders, they will still be pretty good and have a lot of cap flexibility for the future.
