The Los Angeles Lakers will likely amnesty the infamous Metta World Peace, the team he has played for the past four seasons.
That being said, the New York Knicks have a glaring need for a backup forward and World Peace might just be the perfect fit.
The Queens born native has made a name for himself for being a very tough player and his defensive abilities. The former Defensive Player of the Year will bring grit and accountability to a team that didn’t have much towards the playoffs.
Has he been a head case at times? Absolutely.
There might not be a bigger lunatic in NBA history besides him and Dennis Rodman. The “Malice at the Palace” will forever be linked to him but that is the Ron Artest from nearly 10 years ago. I think he now knows his role in the NBA and wants to play for a winner. A rebuilding team wouldn’t be signing him, so he would have to accept to be a role player for a playoff team.
World Peace would come in for Carmelo Anthony and give a pretty intriguing defensive lineup of Iman Shumpert, Tyson Chandler, and himself. World Peace would also drive Carmelo to be the best player he can be in practice and test him every single day.
World Peace knows what it takes to win and has played with Kobe Bryant, the fiercest competitor in the league. He will show Anthony and the other leaders how to attack every game and think big picture.
I think World Peace and the Knicks are a great match. He will give the fans entertainment while giving them toughness on the court.
My only request is that there are hidden cameras whenever him and J.R. Smith hang out or go to a club.
