2013 NBA Playoffs: Knicks-Celtics Game 6 Preview

Are the wheels falling off?

Have they already fallen off?

After having a commanding 3-0 lead, the New York Knicks have given the Boston Celtics life, losing two straight to them. Now the pressure seems to have turned a 180 and is all on the Knicks. The Celtics have nothing to lose at home. They were expected to lose this series coming into it, and when the fell down 0-3, it was pretty much all but over.

They in rallied Game 4 and won a close one, and then shocked the world by beating the Knicks at home in Game 5, a game which the Celtics had control of the whole game.

Game 6 will be in the comfort of TD Garden and once again Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and the entire Celtics roster have their backs up against the wall.

They did it at home then took care of business at MSG where the Knicks were supposed to “hold their funeral.”

Which Knicks team will show up?

The championship contender team that played in games 1-3 or the team that looks like they don’t want it?

Can the Knicks put an end to this series or will there be a Game 7 in the Garden?

Here’s what you need to know:

When: Friday May 3rd at 7:00 PM EST

Where: TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts

Watch: ESPN

Betting Line: Knicks (-2.5)

Key Matchup: The Knicks vs. themselves

I know this seems cliché, but the Knicks are beating themselves. Hats off to the Celtics for fighting and winning these last two games, but the Knicks aren’t playing like they could be. J.R. Smith’s Game 5 speaks for itself and Carmelo Anthony hasn’t been scoring with ease like he has been.

If the Knicks play their game they should win.

It’s that simple.

The Celtics have all the confidence in the world right now and we saw it when they started talking trash and pushing and shoving a little after Game 5. They think they are in the Knicks heads and the only way we will find out is tonight. Vegas still has the Knicks the favorite because they are the more talented team and because Carmelo can go for 50 any night.

I think ‘Melo goes off this game and has a signature road playoff game moment. This might be the die-hard Knicks fan in me talking, but I think the series ends tonight.

Prediction: Knicks 90, Celtics 85
