Former Knick Baron Davis to host own TV Show

Former New York Knicks point guard Baron Davis is currently rehabbing his knee injury suffered during last year’s playoff loss to the Miami Heat.

But while Davis, an unrestricted free agent, hasn’t been able to get back on the basketball court this season, he could be ready to begin another facet of his career.

Davis looks to be headed to television as it is being reported that he is getting his own television show on the Esquire Network (formerly known as G4).

According to Deadline, Davis will be the host of a new half-hour segment to air this summer called “How I Rock It”, which will profile the styles of ”athletes, musicians, celebrities, designers, influencers, and street-style icons” who have worked to set a ”new standard for today’s modern man.”

This concept has a chance to be popular as it pertains to the NBA, at least around playoff time, where postgame attire has become every bit as important as winning basketball games.

For that, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook would have been the ideal host, but I’m pretty sure he will be busy late into the summer. With that being said, I’m sure Davis could devote an entire segment to Westbrook’s pajama pants and fake rims.

On a serious note though, it’s good to see Davis being active and pursuing other opportunities, although I wouldn’t write off a return to the court next season just yet.
