When the New York Knicks take the court Wednesday night, they will have to do so without two of their best players.
Both Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton have been ruled out for Wednesday’s tilt against the Phoenix Suns.
Both players got hurt during the Knicks’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day. Anthony hyperextended his left knee when Marcus Camby fell on to him in the second quarter and Felton sprained his right pinkie finger in the third quarter when he and Steve Nash dove for a loose ball.
The Knicks are listing both players as day-to-day.
In addition, backup center Rasheed Wallace (sore left foot) will not play Wednesday.
This is Felton’s, who also has bone bruises on both hands, first missed game of the season; it’s Anthony’s fifth and Wallace’s ninth missed game because of injury. For Wallace, it is seven consecutive games now in street clothes.
Jason Kidd will move to the point guard and James White will be making his first start of the season. In 20 games, White is averaging 1.6 points in only six minutes per game.
Ronnie Brewer, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler are also in the Knicks’ starting lineup vs. the Suns.
