New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton has a lot to prove this season. He also has a lot to lose, namely his weight.
Prove that last season was an aberration
Felton played poorly with the Portland Trail Blazers last season, and people criticized him. But now he is ready to “shut up a lot of people.” Felton was the starting point guard for the Knicks in the 2010-11 NBA Season. He averaged 17.1 points and 9 assists per game. With more talent around him now, Felton has a chance to eclipse those numbers.
Make New York forget about Jeremy Lin
New York fans are still mad about losing Jeremy Lin to the Houston Rockets. Now Felton has to make them forget about Lin. That won’t be easy; Lin was a global phenomenon last season. But Felton thinks he is better than Lin. That remains to be seen, but you have to like his competitiveness.
Lose the weight
Critics chastised Felton for being out of shape last season. But he has lost the weight and is ready to go. Knicks fans hope that he looks and plays like the Felton of old.
Felton has a lot to prove this season with the Knicks. Losing the weight was the first step. Now he just has to be himself, not the player he was last season.
