The Knicks have tried to plays where they run him off screens and on curls, but he can't shoot in motion, like, say, Ray Allen. Novak is a pure spot-up shooter.   They could do other things to get him open, sure, but with the exception of some games, if Novak is killing the other team from downtown, they just won't leave him. Miami is a smart enough team to tell a guy not to help off Novak if he's making 3s.   And to be fair, J.R. Smith seems to always find Novak. Probably more so than anyone else on the Knicks.
