The Knicks players need time to adjust to their new roles. This team can compete for a title for years to come, but it’s really up to the players to adjust and do what it takes to get there. Would they be willing to sacrifice their games in order to win? This is what it really boils down to. What is more important to you, personal performance or winning? Some nights Melo can be the featured player, on other nights it can be Amar’e and etc.
Melo has already proven that he is one of the best in the game, as well as Amar’e. So what’s more important to you now-to continue to break personal records or try to get three championship rings? Players cannot worry about how many shots he’s taken or not taken. Example, let’s say there is a game that Melo only has six points, if we won the game it shouldn’t matter.
The difference between the Knicks and let’s say, the Sixers, who also have a deep team, is that we have guys who can close out a game at any given night, but that’s only when the team needs it. When the team is struggling to score or close out a game, that’s when Melo and Amar’e should step up. We haven’t won a championship in a long time. Real die hard Knick fans do not care about how much a player scored, they care more about the “W”. Melo, Amar’e: Can you lead us to a championship?
