Tough Road Ahead…

Feb 11, 2012; Minneapolis, MN, USA; New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin (17) with guard Landry Fields (2) and head coach Mike D

The Knicks have a tough road ahead as they will be facing some of the tougher teams in the NBA (the Celtics, Mavericks, Spurs, Sixers and the Bulls). The Knicks started off the second half of the season with an impressive victory against the Cavs and following the victory, they had some time off. This time off could not have come at a better time.
As we already know, the shortened season did not bode well for the Knicks and this time off gave them the opportunity to get some good practices in before hitting the road. These upcoming games are very critical to the team, as they will be fighting with other teams for playoff position. As of now, the Knicks are the 8th seed and if the playoffs were to start today, they would be facing the Chicago Bulls. And this is not a team we would want to start off the playoffs against.

The Knicks goal should try to at least get to the 6th, 5th or 4th seeds where they can face more favorable matchups, such as the Pacers, Hawks, Sixers or the Magic. The end of the season is quickly approaching and this is why these games are crucial to the Knicks. Last season’s first-round sweep by the Celtics was tough for the Knicks.

Even though I feel really confident about the Knicks chances of going deep into the playoffs, it would be helpful to the team to face off against one of the teams I previously mentioned. Starting off against the Heat or the Bulls could end the Knicks’s playoff birth before it even begins. How do you guys feel about this upcoming road trip? Do you feel the Knicks can go up to the 6th, 5th or 4th seeds?
