Just to settle the record, I love what Jeremy Lin has been doing. I am a huge fan and have enjoyed watching the last 5 games. My last post was more about the ridiculous hype than anything against Lin. Though some people may have interpreted it that way, I do not hate Jeremy Lin.
I think Amare will average at least 25 ppg with Lin. Carmelo is still TBD, but he is at least saying all the right things. I can’t wait to see this team at full strength.
All that being said, we need to tone it down a bit. People are going to start to react negatively to all of the sensationalism. It has already started. Floyd Mayweather, even though he is a moron and would probably have something to say no matter what, is only the first. The problem is it has nothing to do with anything Jeremy Lin has done. He has not said or done anything to make people dislike him. Quite the contrary. However, when ESPN.com has a poll about who is the best point guard in the NBA and Jeremy Lin is one of the options and Deron Williams is not, that’s a problem. That is going to make some people dislike Lin, and it is unnecessary. Yes, I know ESPN did it to be controversial and have the message boards light up. That’s the problem!
The irony of someone writing about how we should stop writing about Jeremy Lin is not lost on me, but if people don’t tone it down they are going to alienate a part of the fan-base.
