Quick Preview: Knicks-76ers

Judging by yesterday’s poll, a good portion of you believe that the Knicks are a very close to getting back on track after their victory against the Bobcats Monday night.

Tonight will be a true test as to whether or not that is the case. The Knicks will take on the surging Philadelphia 76ers at MSG this evening in a matchup that should be rather revealing for the Knicks faithful.

If the Knicks can pull out a W tonight, it would be safe to say that the Knicks have got things back under control; however this will be no easy task. Doug Collins has his Philadelphia 76ers playing extremely well; they are off to an unbelievable 7-2 start which places them third in the conference, and just one game behind the first place Heat.

The Knicks’ early season struggles have been well documented, yet they have played well since Amar’e Stoudemire has returned to the lineup.

The play of Stoudemire as well as fellow superstar Carmelo Anthony will be paramount in this contest. The 76ers have no real superstar on their team, but have great depth, which has been their biggest asset thus far. If the Knicks can take advantage of the Sixers starters and build an early lead, they should give their bench enough leeway to withstand the charge of the 76ers bench.

Projected starters:

Knicks: Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Landry Fields and Iman Shumpert

76ers: Spencer Hawes, Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala, Jodie Meeks and Jrue Holiday

Tip off: 7:30 pm EST at Madison Square Garden
