Amar’e Out Tonight Against the Kings

Who will D'Antoni start in place of the injured Stoudemire?

Just when you thought things couldn’t quite get any worse, they do. Amar’e Stoudemire will sit out tonight’s contest against the Sacramento Kings after suffering a sprained ankle on Thursday night against the Lakers.

This is rather unfortunate news for the  Knicks who could certainly use a win against the Kings to get back on track, after suffering a pair of unfortunate losses against Golden State and the Lakers.

It has yet to be confirmed who will start in place of Amar’e, but it could be one of either Harrellson,Novak, Balkman or Jefferies depending on whether or not D’Antoni decides to go with a small ball lineup. Given the interior size of the Kings, it might make more sense to start Harrellson, but we will have to wait and see how Coach D’Antoni decides to play this one.

Anyway you look at it the Knicks will be in tough against a much improved Sacramento Kings team that defeated the Lakers earlier this week.  They will need Carmelo Anthony to be huge in this game if they have any hope of winning at all.

Game time is 8:00 PM EST on MSG/ league pass for those of you who don’t live in the New York area. See you all there..
