The Knicks have announced a home and home preseason matchup against the New Jersey Nets. On December 17th the Knicks will visit the Prudential Center and on December 21st the Nets will visit MSG.
The abbreviated pres season schedule will take place in time to prepare the Knicks for their season and home opener against the Boston Celtics on Christmas day. The Christmas day matchup was preserved from the original schedule and will be a rematch of last year’s first round playoff series between the two teams.
The Knicks will be out to prove that they are the better team after suffering a sweep at the hands of the Celts last season in that very same first round series. The Knicks were decimated by injuries in that series and should be mostly healthy heading into the season opener. It is also uncertain how the Celtic’s veterans will respond to such a long layoff, but after being bounced from the playoffs by the Miami Heat in the second round, Boston will also be out to prove that they still have what it takes to be a contender in the Eastern Conference.
With these games already announced, and the rest of the schedule coming Tuesday, the excitement is building for the upcoming season and rightuflly so because the NBA IS BACK!
