After the Melo/Goodman League showdown, Carmelo Anthony went straight to the mic to announce his plans of getting the Knicks together for informal practices in October. As was reported a couple months ago, Amar’e Stoudemire already had this idea, so good to see they’re on the same page…sort of.A relatively harmless comment by Carmelo could easily be misconstrued by New York’s raw flesh hungry media over the next few days. Here it is, courtesy of ESPNNewYork:
“I’m trying to find Amare man,” Anthony said with a laugh. “If anyobody’s seen Amare just tell him [I'm looking for him]. I don’t know where he’s at man. I heard he’s in China, I heard he’s back. Maybe I’ll see him in New York next week for Fashion Week.”
It’s swell they mentioned to include “said with a laugh”, but don’t be surprised if you see these comments get twisted into a full on Carmelo vs. Amar’e controversy. Hopefully we’re smarter than that.
