Knicks vs Pacers at the Garden.

Many are probably saying it is not 1994 so why in the world would I be looking forward to a Knicks/Pacers game. The reason why is the Pacers are a team on the rise.

They made the playoffs as the 8th seed last season and were highly competitive in their first round matchup against the Bulls. They won one game and could have easily won a few more. Their performance was much more impressive than the Knicks who got swept. They have a lot of real talented young players led by Danny Granger.

Last season they matched up against one another 4 times, splitting the series. The games were highly competitive. Two of the games were decided on last second shots by Danny Granger and Carmelo Anthony.

Hopefully the Knicks will play defense against Tyler Hansbrough, who totally destroyed them. In the Pacers back to back sweep of the Knicks in March, Hansbrough scored 59 points in the two games. The Knicks made him look like Kevin McHale.

It is beneficial to see both teams relevant once again. They had a terrific rivalry in the 90s, and hopefully a new one can begin. There is no Reggie Miller to hate on, but it is still Indiana. Knick fans can reminisce about the good old days each time they play. The fact that both teams are coming off playoff appearances make these match ups celebrated once again.
