Agree that this was a winnable game at that point, and that the failure to foul in a timely manner (especially when New York had no timeouts left) was damning to the cause. If Melo was gassed, D’Antoni should’ve had him resting for that defensive play and had a guy in there who could’ve run at West. ‘Melo could’ve come back in after the first free-throw for a chance at a game-winner with some more time on the clock.
