According to ESPNNewYork’s Ian Begley:
The team says center Ronny Turiaf is doubtful with a strained right ankle.
The injury forced Turiaf to miss Saturday night’s 114-106 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Mike D’Antoni, who started Shawne Williams in place of Turiaf against Charlotte, was not ready to announce his starting lineup on Monday morning. D’Antoni noted that all 15 of his players are healthy, so maybe that’s a good sign for Turiaf.
Hate to place yet another obstacle in the Knicks’ road to ending their losing streak, but if Ronny can’t go tonight expect Dwight Howard to turn MSG into his personal slaughterhouse once again.
In other Knicks news, I also want to point out an interesting Renaldo Balkman interview that was posted today by Dime Magazine. If you forgot Balkman was on the team, you aren’t alone. Since coming aboard, Balkman’s played 18 minutes. He was a pretty good defensive player, last I checked; maybe it’s time to let the guy loose, give him some minutes, and see what happens. Sometimes when you’re near rock bottom, a semi-drastic move like this one couldn’t make the situation any worse than it already is.
