I still think you can't even really begin to know whether he's even a good coach yet since Curry's missed so many games, David Lee's missed games/had his shot off because he can't even fully bend his elbow, and Biedrins has been missing several games. That's 3 out of your 5 starters on a team that doesn't go deep. And even their bench had to deal with injuries to Lou Amundson and Ekpe Udoh, who both seem like likely solid contributors. I don't think the new owners are actually fairly savvy (one of 'em used to be part of the Celtics ownership group) so they aren't just looking to be splashy and bring in a big name just to bring in a big name. They'll be patient and let Smart show what he can do.

I agree about Keith Smart, the new owners will likely make a change and bring in a big time coach. Don Nelson was a big name, but as the Knicks can attest to, he's not a big time coach.

You're right. I, like many Knick fans, jumped to extremism after they looked so awful against both Miami and the Cavs. D'Antoni's safe.

With the injuries to David Lee, Andris Biedrins & Stephen Curry, I think Smart should be pretty safe during the regular season. Plus the Warriors looked good at the beginning when everyone was relatively healthy. So I think he gets a bit of a pass until the summer at least.

The Knicks are going to be up and down for the year, don't think D'Antoni is on the hot seat with the Knicks finally starting to matter again.

You nailed it though, Sacramento, Detroit and Milwaukee might need to make some changes
