And yeah I hope Pritchard comes here, but I doubt it. And I thought a few months back the Hornets got bought by a new owner who was willing to spend but maybe that hasn’t gone through yet?

And ironically, it’s rumored that Pritchard might get hired by the Hornets, so then you’re right, we’d never get Paul in a trade. Though I suspect Pritchard won’t take the job since they seem more about avoiding the luxury tax than winning.

Anyway, as much as I’d like to see this happen I don’t see Paul getting traded and Melo not taking the extension.

I’d rather us just focus on finding a GM like Pritchard who knows how to build through the draft and build a team the right way. I’m tired of this next summer garbage and rumors.

I think probably one of the things that most bothers a bunch of fans/teams about the whole LBJ thing is that it appears he pretty much knew for a while what he was gonna do, but he strung along teams anyway. Like at least Wade and Bosh announced their decisions a couple of days earlier so that like Chicago had enough time to sign Boozer before another team ‘cuz they knew they no longer had to keep cap space open for those two. I don’t think New York was hurt by LeBron’s delay, but I certainly feel for Cleveland.

As for the contract extension, the Nuggets have said they’re willing to keep it on the table for the whole season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Melo waited a while to get a better sense of whether there will be a strike next year or if they come to an agreement on a new collective agreement in time, then he can see exactly how much he stands to lose. For instance, to make up completely out-of-nowhere numbers, if say under the new CBA they make 4 year contracts the longest you can offer, and say $15 million the highest starting salary, then Melo would realize if he doesn’t snag the 3-year $65 mill extension he’ll get a far worse 4-year like $65 mill contract. That’d be a lot of money to give up.

So while it’s good Melo hasn’t yet signed the extension, until he opts out next June 30th, it don’t mean a thang.

Getting Paul though in a trade would probably require a 3rd team and also would probably mean Felton would be gone, Chandler or Galinari would probably have to be thrown in, and maybe one of the big men.

While I can’t imagine Carmello leaving the 65 million extension on the table the new big three all took less money so the Heat could sign other players, so its in the realm of possibility.

Isn’t a toast at a wedding the same as making an oath under the eyes of God? If it is then this has to happen.. we don’t want Paul burning in the afterlife do we?
