No, not just to visit, but to join the team. This has been and will continue to be over-analyzed non-stop through the summer. There’s been an article about how LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh should give up some salary to form a “Dream Team Jr.” in NYC and they’d make more than enough in endorsements to cover those losses. Yeah right, keep dreaming. This article describes how Toronto could lose Bosh due to bball’s second-class status next to hockey (at a recent Toronto Raptors’ home game all the locals in attendance were secretly watching & cheering a Canadian [...]

If things look funky on this site over the next few days, don’t go blaming your computer. The FanSided network has decided to redesign their look, and they’re experimenting with the Knicks’ blog first. They CLAIM it’s because the designer is a New Yorker, but we all know it’s ‘cuz we rock. So sorry if things look odd over the next few days, but this is one of the few times you can believe this statement: Trust me, it’s not you, you did nothing wrong, it’s all me.
Today we once again leave our insular Knick world to check in on some comings, goings, and idlings around the league:
–To Be Filed Under “And You Thought Jordan Hill Was A Bad Draft Pick”
When Brandon Jennings, the #10 pick in this last year’s draft, started showing he’s fo’ real, everyone bitched about the Knicks not snagging him with their #8 pick. ‘Course that means 9 other teams passed on him too, so it’s not like NYC was the only one who misjudged him. And with #1 pick Blake Griffin injured and unable to play a single minute this season, really [...]
Do I even need to say the Knicks lose anymore when I write about games? Shouldn’t that just be assumed? Hell, if I was the type to buy lottery tickets, wouldn’t y’all get annoyed with me if every day I turned to you, tapped ya on the shoulder & said, “Hey guess what? I didn’t win the lottery again today.” With the odds so stacked against you, you’d only mention the outcome if it was surprising. So from now on, when I talk about the Knicks’ latest game, I’m not gonna mention that they lost and y’all can just assume [...]
A few days ago I jokingly made up a conversation between Knicks’ General Manager Donnie Walsh and the Houston Rockets’ Daryl Morey where Walsh stupidly agreed to Morey’s every demand. Turns out that during their actual negotiations they were secretly being videotaped. It’s a bit long, and apparently the camera they used wasn’t that great because both guys look kinda cartoonish and sound a bit robotic, but this is clearly the real deal.
Last night the Knicks lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. Again.
The Good:
1. New point guard Sergio Rodriguez took over the starting gig from Chris Duhon. Spanish Chocolate was a never-ending blur and managed an unbelievable EIGHT steals!
2. New undersized shooting guard, Eddie House, played point when Spanish Chocolate went out, which meant: Chris Duhon didn’t play at all! Not a second! And that was goooood.
3. The Knicks did a good job hustling and scrambling on defense, holding the Bucks to a mere 43% fg shooting.
4. Tracy McGrady did not just settle for easy jump shots and instead had a few nice [...]
The Oklahoma Thunder have made one of the most remarkable turnarounds in NBA history. After winning only 21 games last year (or in a glass half-empty view, losing 61 games), they now are 5th in the ultra-competitive Western Conference. They are in the middle of the longest current winning streak in the league (nine games), and they have third-year phenom, Kevin Durant, a legit MVP candidate. It could be argued that Durant is second in the MVP race to only LeBron. Plus, he’s in the middle of a streak of having scored 25+ points in 27 straight games. At first [...]
In less than two years, Donnie Walsh has done the unthinkable: he has taken a team that had the highest payroll to one that will have the most cap space in time for perhaps the NBA’s biggest summer free agent bonanza ever. But at what cost? We’ve already let our 2009 lottery pick go (Jordan Hill) and have pretty much given away our 2011 and 2012 picks too (Isiah had already given up this year’s 2010 pick which should be pretty good since we such so hard). In addition, while he hasn’t given up any certifiable studs, he has tossed [...]
Donnie Walsh must have blisters on his fingers from all the calls he’s made in the last few days. Three trades have been finalized. We already reported on the first one: the lame white boy trade (one little addendum to it is that the Knicks have already waived their new lame white boy — no surprise since as we said this was just about getting some hard cash for the Knicks since neither player would ever get minutes for us).
The second one, which we also talked about before it was finalized, was a trade with the Houston Rockets involving Tracy [...]
