The 3rd Quarter Meltdown Face
The Knicks beat the Nets at Seton Hall Wednesday night 94-92. The Knicks had an 18 point lead going into the half, but after an abysmal third quarter the Nets came all the way back and even led at the beginning of the fourth.
Duhon finally got on track this preseason by dropping 21 on Alston and company. The Knicks went with their second team for the majority of the game and still came out on top against the winless Nets. The Nets finished the preseason 0-6 and the Knicks who got off to a rough start, finish 4-2.
Lee had 11/9, but didn’t play much as did rest of the Knicks starting 5. Douglas is really starting to grow on me as a playmaker. Douglas added 13, but really came through down the stretch and led the 2nd team really well.
The Knicks almost blew it late after several free throw boxing out issues in the last few seconds, but these guys were inexperienced and two of the five on the court at the time were cut anyway.
Knicks head into Miami next for the season opener and will be a tough road environment for the young Knicks to overcome.
Overall, I was very pleased with how this preseason went. Gallinari played, Lee is still a machine, Nate is playing for a contract next season, and Toney Douglas is a stud in the making.
Expect my predictions for the NBA to come in the next few days for the 2009-2010 season.
