Could Chris Paul be a Knick?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

So I happened to be browsing the 2010 free agent pool today, and found that Paul’s contract does indeed expire after this season. Paul is owed 6 million this season, but after that it is an unknown.
And with all of this point guard drama this offseason could Paul be the dark horse free agent next season?
Paul is without a doubt the best PG in the game right now, and would flourish in D’Antoni’s system. The great thing about Paul is how hard he plays on a day to day basis and plays in New Orleans.
Now, let me explain. If Paul [...]

Thursday Link Dump

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Knicks | COMMENTS: None Yet

So, we’re starting a new trend here that includes my linkage to some blogs and articles I found appealing.

Haiku to you, to NBA-ers that I hate.
Celtics humor? I kid.
Walsh’s Report Card
Tommy Dee doing work.
Renaming the Knickerbockers
Cool story.
That’s all that caught my eye today, expect these to come daily when news is slow like right now.

Knick haters, what’s new?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Brian Windhorst gets a wag of the finger this week for his comments towards the Knicks financial issues heading into next summer.
Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer (who?) has come out with three teams who he feels will have more attractive offers next summer.
The Nets, Heat, and the Clippers all made the list, but the funny thing is there was no mention of Jeffries being moved. Jared Jeffries will be moved this season and when his contract is off the books that will allow the Knicks to offer two max contracts.
The Nets are the only legitimate team on that list [...]

Just Do It, Ramon Sessions

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

I am absolutely overjoyed to inform all my loyal followers that a recent report has risen that Sessions no longer as an other suitors except for the Knicks.
Now, give me a minute so I can run around my apartment in excitement that Sessions is going to be a Knick. The Clippers are apparently content and will not add anyone else to the roster, and the Bucks don’t want to go over the tax.
What does this all mean? Well, the Knicks are the only other options and Sessions will be forced to accept a discount JUST to play this season. Sessions [...]

So enough with this PG fiasco

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Let’s talk about Jared Jeffries. Yeah, it pains me to say his name as well, but as some know Jeffries is going to be the biggest factor for next offseason to go as planned.
Jeffries horrible contract is the last bad contract other then Eddy Curry to not be vanquished by Walsh to this day. Now, once Jeffries is moved this team will be able to offer 2 max contracts, rather then just one.
That could be critical come next summer and ensure that we do indeed land the desired free agents. So, Mr. Walsh it’s about time you stick to your [...]

Ricky Rubio to New York being revisisted?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 11 Comments

Surprising news coming out this morning that included Ricky Rubio and the Knicks.
The T’Wolves GM has been in Spain this past week for unknown reasons but the current speculation is that it has to do with the Knicks and signing Rubio’s rights to New York. Walsh has put off all communication for the week with Hudson, Tinsley, Sessions, etc until this new development is found.
This could be a blockbuster week for the Knicks, let’s hope something that includes Rubio to NY does indeed happen. It’d certainly make this offseason a HUGE success.

Stephon finally gone too far?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

It appears as though Marbury has finally gone too far. In a recent video on his livestream Marbury lights up a blunt and admits to his viewers what exactly he’s smoking.

Just a word of advice Steph; if you are looking for work don’t admit to drug use on camera.

Pick Your Poison: New York Knicks Style

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Well Buckets Over Broadway fans, I’m running short on ideas on Knicks news for the day, so how about I do something a little different? This offseason has been filled with various rumors that usually end up with a “No” directed at the Knicks front office.
Now a few weeks after Grant Hill and Jason Kidd gave us the cold shoulder let me breakdown the remaining options for the Knicks this offseason.
Jamaal Tinsley:
The dude is from New York and would take a discount, GREAT! Tinsley is a one dimensional PG with little speed and a weak passing game with an [...]

Sessions to LA Clippers might be almost done

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

According to a couple of sources all signs are pointing towards the Clippers signing young point guard sensation Ramon Sessions. Also in the report it stated that the Knicks almost offered Sessions a contract about a month ago.
We’ve known for sometime that this was going to be between the Clippers and Knicks and if the Clippers acquire this young, rising star and STILL don’t make the playoffs then Dunleavy has to be on his way out, right? Well, I can’t say this doesn’t frustrate me. It also means we’re going to sign either Hudson or Tinsley. My gut tells me [...]
