RealGM is reporting Kidd will indeed wait a few weeks before choosing his destination for next season.
The Knicks/Mavs appear to be the front runners for the aging point guard. The Knicks don’t want to sign Kidd if it will effect 2010, but if the Knicks can move Curry/Mobley and possibly Jefferies they would be able to afford Kidd and not mess up next summer.
I like Kidd if it doesn’t effect our cap room next summer. But then again anything is better then Duhon at this point. Now, don’t get me wrong Duhon was very serviceable last season in the first half, but the minutes caught up with him and he really lagged towards the end of the season.
Duhon is best served coming off the bench and having reduced minutes to make sure he’s effective the majority of the time he is in the game. I like a Kidd/Duhon rotation for next season and with both contracts being up after this season that could pose lots of problems for next summer and we’d likely have to overpay for a PG.
Lots of possibilities!
