Don’t expect any moves coming this week

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: None Yet

With each passing day it’s becoming increasingly more likely that there will not be a resolve in the Sessions, Nate, Lee, and Tinsley for the time being.
With the recent reports of Walsh waiting on the Bucks to deal with Bruce Bowen don’t expect Walsh to formally offer Sessions a contract so Walsh knows exactly how much to bring to the table. Adding Sessions will dip into the 2010 fund, but he’s worth it.
Secondly, we have the David Lee situation. I’ve seen reports that signal Lee accepting a 1 year deal and just testing free agency next season. He’s not going [...]

Tinsley and Walsh reunion?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Knicks | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the recent turn of events, it appears the focus will turn to Jamaal Tinsley. Walsh and Tinsley have reportedly met and discussed the possibility of signing him. Tinsley is one of Walsh’s draft picks, which should say enough about his career.

I really don’t like Tinsley’s game and have seen it up at close at a camp a couple of years back. I’ve met the guy and didn’t care for him. He has no jumpshot and is an average slasher. I still have hope for Sessions but Tinsley will have to do as long it’s a 1 year deal.

He’s Baaaaccckkkkk

Erm, well almost that is. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Nate Robinson and the Knicks are very close to a 1 year contract worth $5 million.

I like the deal and glad to see Kryptonate back in a Knicks uniform. Sure, he can be reckless at times, but his energy is always nice to watch. And with the season being utterly meaningless at least he’ll bring some excitement to my television, unlike Eddy Curry who’ll likely just fill it up.

Sessions offered 5 year deal from Knicks

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: None Yet

Great, great news coming out of Milwaukee tonight. Apparently the Knicks have offered Sessions the MLE for 5 years in which he’ll make roughly 5.8 million this season.
The Bucks have seven days to match.
I think the 5 years might be enough to lock him up, as the Bucks only wanted to go 4. So we’ll see how it all shakes out. I’m really high on Sessions and like a PG combination of Sessions/Duhon.

Nate declines Greek team’s offer

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: None Yet

Nate appears to be staying in NY this season. Nate has declined the Greek team’s offer and wants to stay in New York. The news broke when the agency announced Robinson declined the offer on their twitter page.

I never thought he’d leave so this isn’t a shock. At least my Robinson jersey will still be able to be used..

Gallinari ready to be face of Knicks?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Chase Thomas, Knicks, Preseason 2009 | COMMENTS: None Yet

Gallinari expects to be the face of the Knicks next season along with Wilson Chandler, according to an interview with the New York Post.
That is if Nate and Lee both bolt away this offseason. I’m kind of surprised that Gallinari is starting to become vocal and I actually like it. I’m glad that he knows how much of a risk he was and needs to step up this season. Gallinari must feel he is healthy, or he wouldn’t be talking like this. I found it interesting he mentioned Chandler as the other face of this team and I guess we [...]

Interesting twist for the future of the Knicks

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

So I happened to be reading Newsday this morning, and most specifically the Knicks blog on there and came across and interesting article from Alan Hahn.
Very enjoyable read and really hit the nail on the head in that we’re investing too much hope into next summer and not built even close to a solid enough team to lure LeBron.
We have been turned down by Jason Kidd and Grant Hill already this summer and it appears Andre Miller will sign elsewhere, but Sessions is on our radar which is great if the Bucks go the cheap route and create more cap [...]

Knicks getting in on the Boozer Sweepstakes?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: None Yet

You know how Facebook has the “like” option for people’s statuses? Well, if this was a Facebook status and the “dislike” option was available I’d be disliking it virtually everytime I read it.
Adding Boozer is a disaster waiting to happen and fortunately enough he’s being courted by several teams, which means we don’t have a great shot at adding him to our clustered frontcourt and to tell you the truth I really hate Boozer as a player and person.
A lot of teams have forgotten how he pledged to stay with Cleveland a few years back and then bolted to Utah [...]

David Lee Saga almost over and Knicks call Bucks?

AUTHOR: Chase Thomas | IN: Free Agency/Trades/Front Office | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

According to new reports Lee is either go to take Portlands offer or the Knicks 5 year deal later next week.
If Lee does indeed resign he’ll sign for less then what he wanted this offseason but that’s how it goes in today’s economy and Lee needs to take it.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind Lee takes the Knicks offer, unless his agent ruins this deal and gets Lee to take more money from Portland to come off the bench.
Lee is guaranteed a starting role here, why leave it to go to a team and play a maximum of [...]
