NBA Playoffs: Where Amazing Happens?

AUTHOR: | IN: 2008-2009 Season | COMMENTS: No Comments |

The NBA playoffs have certainly lived up to expectations thus, and have been “Amazing”. We have seen some historic battles already taking place in the first round, and with some teams already rapping it up I felt I should give some analysis to what has taken place.

Best Series Thus Far:

Without a doubt, the best first round series has been the Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls. To this point both teams have stolen one on the road and have taken two games past regulation.

The guard play has stolen the show with Gordon/Allen going at absolutely insane from the floor and Rondo/Rose doing everything they can to propel their team past the first round.

It’s unfortunate though to see the Bulls being run by such a joke of a head coach in Vinny Del Negro. If the Bulls had hired somebody like Eddie Jordan, Flip Saunders, or even Avery Johnson this team would have taken care of business in Chicago.

Anyway….

Some other things that I have come to the conclusion of is that the Lakers are going to coast through the rest of the West, and the Cavs are going to cruse past the East. The Lakers and Cavs are the only teams so far to show that they have that killer instinct to grab the title.

Biggest Playoff Surprise:

It has to be the Sixers hanging with the Magic. I’m thoroughly impressed with the job DeLeo has done with this team. He has pushed this team all season long without Elton Brand, their big free agent acquisition, and still keeping pace with a powerhouse in the East.

Remember, this team won in overtime on the last game of this season to a Cavs team without Mo Williams, LeBron James, Joe Smith, and many other key pieces to the lineup.

All of this just goes to show you that the playoffs is a totally different ball game.

Cue the music…
