Adressing our offseason needs
With my most recent post concerning the acquisition of Rip Hamilton it really has gotten me thinking on possible big time players who we could lure to the Big Apple not named LeBron James. Our first major need is at the PG spot. Chris Duhon is a very good role player, but not a starter. He lacks any penetrating ability and doesn’t have the passing ability to cancel out his other weaknesses. I’d like to keep him for a couple more seasons, but only if that means Duhon comes off the bench. First Possible Fit: Ramon Sessions: From what I’ve [...]
Rip Hamilton unhappy in Detroit
Recent reports by realgm.com have brought out the Pistons Rip Hamilton’s frustration with how this past season has gone and the direction the team is going in. It appears as though the losing has taken its toll on him and watching Detroit basketball fall apart has really broken him up. Hamilton was a big part of the 2004 champion team and the 6 straight conference championship runs. Watching this team break up has to be tough to swallow, so perhaps a change of scenery would reignite the fire of one of the best shooters in the game. A huge need [...]
This Stephen Curry talk is scaring me
The last couple of days the Knicks have began to get more intensive with their lottery pick options. It looks as though we’re leaning towards Stephen Curry if he’s there at the 6th spot or later. My friends over at theknicksblog.com have reported Curry has been told he’ll be picked anywhere from 6-20. Let’s all hope we either luck out and get a top 5 pick or a late lottery pick. I really am not sold on this kid and believe he’s too raw and too immature to contribute anytime soon. He has a very nice jumpshot when he gets [...]
NBA Playoffs: Where Amazing Happens?
The NBA playoffs have certainly lived up to expectations thus, and have been “Amazing”. We have seen some historic battles already taking place in the first round, and with some teams already rapping it up I felt I should give some analysis to what has taken place. Best Series Thus Far: Without a doubt, the best first round series has been the Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls. To this point both teams have stolen one on the road and have taken two games past regulation. The guard play has stolen the show with Gordon/Allen going at absolutely insane from the [...]
Knicks pursuing Mullin
Chris Mullin is being linked by several sources close to the Knicks that he is the leading candidate to be the new GM of the Knicks. Mullin is currently the GM of the Golden State Warriors and with the current make up of the team they are destined to rot in the West until Don Nelson is pushed out of town. Mullin would be a great fit here in NY. As much as people are hyping this though, I can’t help but wonder why? Walsh runs things here in NY and knows what he wants. I feel like if we [...]
Knicks FIRST nationally televised game of the season
ARE YOU READY!? Tonight the Magic and Knicks meet in Orlando on ESPN 2! This is the first nationally televised game of the season if you didn’t know already so this is a chance to show NBA fans all over what the Knicks are made of. I don’t think they could have picked a better team to match us up against on ESPN. Hey Dwight… So, everyone tune in tonight as the Knicks look to finish the season strong and perhaps pull a huge upset in Orlando. Go Knicks!
Knicks fall to Raptors 102-95
The Knicks started off strong once again scoring 30 in the first quarter. The Knicks then went on to score 20, 23, 22 in the remaining three quarters getting outscored in each. It was another tough shooting night as we only shot 22% from 3 and never seemed to get it together offensively or defensively (surprise?). Bosh had 17 points and 13 boards, which was great to see and was very impressed with his work down low and could be a huge pick up if we go after him. Chandler only went 2-7 from the field and finished with 4, [...]
Tomorrow will be the start of a huge stretch of games, not because there are playoff implications but rather lottery pick implications. The Raptors are a .5 game ahead of the Knicks in the Atlantic and beating the Raptors would push the Knicks past them, which nobody wants at this point. So for those who end up attending tomorrow and Sunday nights game be very receptive to Chris Bosh and perhaps silently cheer for the Raptors in hopes we land a top pick in the draft this season.
